Emma Richmond, BSW, MSW candidate

Emma Richmond joined the Lighthouse Child Advocacy Center team as a Therapist on May 1, 2026. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Social Work from Bethany College in 2025 and is expected to graduate with her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Concord University in July 2026.

Emma’s passion for helping others began during her undergraduate field placement at an equine therapeutic facility, where she worked with children and adults with developmental disabilities. She also had the opportunity to assist veterans diagnosed with PTSD through equine psychotherapy. These experiences reinforced her desire to support individuals on their healing journeys and sparked a deep appreciation for the power of therapeutic relationships.

While completing her MSW practicum at the Lighthouse Child Advocacy Center, Emma quickly developed a passion for helping children process and overcome trauma. She was drawn to the CAC model because of its child-focused, trauma-informed approach and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families.

Emma’s favorite part of her job is interacting with children and their caregivers and witnessing their growth and progress throughout the therapeutic process. She considers it a privilege to walk alongside families as they heal and build resilience.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys reading, horseback riding, spending time outdoors, and making memories with family and friends. She is also a proud pet owner and shares her home with two cats and a horse named Honey.
